Places available for music summer school
'Early Bird' places are still available for the Dublin Choral Foundation's summer school for choir and organ, 'Orlandus 2017', writes Brian Byrne.
According to Kilcullen organ music enthusiast Peter Moloney, a number of local people are considering attending the event in August, with Kilcullen's organ scholar Ella Fallon already committed.
Ella, a former student of CPC, is currently studying Music in Dublin Institute of Technology.
Orlandus 2017 is taking place in St Kevin's Church Hall on Harrington St, SCR, Dublin, from August 10-13, under the supervision of the Director of the Orlandus Choir, Dr Ite O'Donovan.
Participants will be aged between 14-26, and will be able to further their interest and skills in singing, playing the organ, and conducting an orchestra.
The course fee is €150, but bookings made by 31 May will be discounted to €110.
Anyone interested in taking part in a pretty special occasion should email ite@dublinchoralfoundation.ie or call Peter Moloney at 087 8172989.
