Race Night in Spout for huskies
A Race Night in The Spout Bar on 12 May will raise funds for Dublin Husky Rescue, which is based on The Curragh, writes Brian Byrne.
It starts at 8pm on the night and the entry fee is €5. Tickets can be booked from Lynne by phoning 085 7764287.
The Rescue was set up in 2014 as a consequence of the increasing number of husky dogs found abandoned, and the organisation works to rehome them in Ireland, the UK, Germany and Sweden.
There are currently 53 dogs under the care of the organisation, at its base in Stepping Stone Stables. Veterinary bills for the work are currently running in excess of €8,000.
All work is being done by volunteers. The Rescue works closely with the wardens in pounds across Ireland and with other rescue groups.
