Student holiday in Kentucky opportunity
A reminder that five young people from County Kildare have the chance to spend a student exchange holiday in Kentucky this summer, writes Brian Byrne.
The annual opportunity is courtesy of Kildare Twinning, the official Kildare County Twinning Committee. Kildare is twinned with Lexington in Kentucky and with Deauville in France.
The Kildare students will spend about ten days in Lexington, hosted by a Kentucky student's family, and on their return host that student for ten days at their home in County Kildare. The exchange takes place during the summer holidays.
Applicants should be 15 or over on 1 June this year. Kildare Twinning will have a very full programme ready for the return visit and will part fund travel.
If you are a student from the County and would like to fill one of the five remaining places on the trip this year, e-mail Marjorie Moore, Student Exchange Officer, at msmarjmoore@gmail.com.
Of you would like to talk to her about it, phone Marjorie at 0879984940.
Marjorie can arrange for you to speak to a former Exchange Student or parent if you like.
