Spout night for Shauntelle Tynan
A local fundraising night towards the campaign to send Carlow teenager Shauntelle Tynan to Texas for lifesaving treatment will be held in The Spout on Friday night, writes Brian Byrne.
The evening will feature live music from Badge, Beefy and Eoghain, Flock of Budgies, Black Pearl and DJ Dilly in the beer garden. Tickets are available at €5 from Handcraft Jewellers Newbridge, The Spout, Berneys Chemist and Michelle Wall.
In three days, more than €700,000 was donated across the internet to the fund, in a Youtube campaign that went viral.
The 18-year-old now has the funds to support specialist treatment in Texas Children’s Hospital for her rare cancer, multi-system Langheran’s cell histiocytosis.
More than 28,000 people donated to the campaign. Shauntelle will have to live for 12 months in Houston, Texas, during the course of the treatment.
