Fun Run training next week
Training sessions for the Fun Run in aid of Halverstown NS and St Anne's School on The Curragh will begin on Tuesday 10 January, writes Brian Byrne.
The Run itself will be held on Sunday 5 March, but in the meantime those who want to gradually get over any excesses of Christmas can do so on the training nights, starting from the astroturf pitch at the Community Centre from 7.30pm.
"These training sessions are an excellent way of getting back into a fitness routine for the New Year and it is great to be able to work towards achieving your running and fitness goals in tandem with others," says Halverstown NS Principal Barry Whelan.
Participants in the training are asked to pay a €2 donation per night to cover the overheads associated with the Fun Run, which includes the chip race timing and event insurance.
