Big turnout for GAA 5K Race
There was a very enthusiastic turnout of 289 registered participants in the inaugural Kilcullen GAA 5K Road Race, writes Brian Byrne. Of the total, 150 were women, and a group of those from Kilcullen GAA itself are pictured above.
James Nolan, in the Senior Men grade, was first home, with a chip time of 0:16:09, and the first woman back was Ruth O'Loughlin in the Senior Women grade, with a time of 0:19:04.
The other grade winners were Jean McEvoy, Female 40 (0:20:06); Molly Aspell, Junior Female (0:22:22); Eddie Allen, Junior Male (0:18:25); Cyril Cuddy, Male 40 (0:16:16); Damian Strain, Male 50 (0:21:56); and Eddie Walsh, Male 60 (0:18:51).
