WEATHER

A dry but cloudy start this morning. The cloud will remain through the afternoon with some light patchy rain developing later this evening. Highest temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees and northwesterly breezes.

DID YOU KNOW?

A calendar adopted in Japan in the 6th century for agricultural purposes divides the year into 72 micro-seasons. It was revised towards the end of the 17th century and the 'seasons' include names like last frost, rice seedlings grow (April 25 to 29), rotten grass becomes fireflies (June 11 to 15), or crickets chirp around the door (October 18 to 22).
