Grow food at work
Businesses in Kildare are being encouraged to join the Cork-based Grow It Yourself (GIY) initiative, growing food at work, writes Brian Byrne.
In association with the Cully & Sully ready-foods company, the ‘Give Peas a Chance’ programme provides registered teams at businesses with a Grow pack of sowing pots, seeds and soil, along with expert growing tips and training advice from GIY.
An online ‘wall’ will provide a space for teams to show their progress, and be eligible for a competition with a prize of €1,500 worth of cookery lessans at Ballymaloe House & Cookery School, plus a donation of a €3,000 community garden to a local cause of the winner’s choice.
The initiative website is cullyandsully.com/ourgarden, where teams can sign up.
