Weather in Kilcullen
Mixed weather is a feature in everyday Ireland, and people coming in to Kilcullen from the Curragh Road are reminded of that by the latest piece of artwork from Kieran Behan, writes Brian Byrne.
Commissioned by Kilcullen Community Action/Tidy Towns, it likely signals that while it may be raining just now, the sun’s going to come out soon … or equally, the other way around, so make the most of it while you can.
It’s the third piece by Kieran to brighten up the town. The winged calf on a window in Lower Main Street has been there for some years, and was recently refurbished by the artist. A plaque is to be put on it to explain the origins.
The recently-mounted Fish piece on Hillcrest has already been explained here.
