Trojan work at Tidy Towns
The Tidy Towns is doing trojan work at the moment, writes Eoin Houlihan of Kilcullen Tidy Towns. There has been a great clean up in the past couple of weeks.
The various dilapidated hoardings around the town have been given a fresh lick of paint and our resident artist, Kieran Behan, has been brightening things up with the various pieces of art works, the Fish, the Cow getting a fresh lick of paint, and the cloud and sunshine. Some of the signs coming into the town have been given a fresh lick of paint also. All in all the place is really coming together.
The baskets and the window boxes are starting to bloom lovely and again we would like to thank all those who have contributed so far. Anyone who still has to give a contribution can do so by leaving into Berney's pharmacy or posting to Ray Kelly.
Some bad news in relation to the zip wire down at the playground. It will be out of action for the foreseeable future. I know I know, it's one of the highlights down there but safety comes first!! The Council have taken it away for some essential maintenance work. We will keep you posted and let you know when it returns, which hopefully will be soon.
Our litter picks continue on a Monday evening between 7.30 and 9pm and on Saturday morning 10am until 12pm. New volunteers are welcome; even 15 minutes of your time can make a world of difference. We meet at the Town Hall both these days.
