New broadband service starting in south Kildare
A broadband site in Old Kilcullen will be the start of a rollout of an internet access service from Imagine across south Kildare, writes Brian Byrne.
The first site will serve an area within a 13km radius and it is hoped it will be live by the end of July.
The move has been welcomed by Deputy Martin Heydon, who has been in discussion with a number of broadband service providers over recent years with a view to getting a better access for the area.
"I recently met with representatives from Ninetreehill Broadband," he said this week, "and am meeting representatives from Eir next week to discuss further their plans for Kildare South and to again impress on them the frustration that exists among residents living in an area so close to Dublin that does not have reasonable broadband services."
Customers can sign up or check their coverage from today by contacting Imagine at www.imagine.ie/lte-fibre-coverage/lte-broadband-kildare/ or by calling their call centre in Sandyford on 1890 929 300 for direct feedback.
