Great performances from Crookstown Millview AC
It has been a very busy few weeks for Crookstown Millview Athletics Club, writes Neil Taylor. Two relay teams, five pairs and five individual athletes qualified for the National Juvenile Finals ranging in age groups from U9 to U19.
Incredibly, each and every team, pair and individual had a top ten finish in their respective events against the best athletes in the land. There were two individual medals also.
First up was Brendan Aspel from Brannockstown
who finished 2nd in Tullamore in the U19 Shot with a putt of 11m 58cm. Next up was Paddy Taylor of Kilcullen who last Saturday finished 2nd in a close competition for the top spot bagging a Silver Medal in the Boys U12 Turbo Javelin, with a throw of 31m 15cm.
Well done to both on two fantastic performances. It shows that hard work, focus and dedication produces results.
Next up is a well earned rest from Track & Field for all athletes. Well done to all and enjoy the break. But remember, Cross Country is just a few weeks away.
