Another great Gospel Choir night
A sellout show and a show that deserved to be a sellout, writes Brian Byrne.
The second Summer Concert from the Kilcullen Gospel Choir was by any standards a tour de force. Again. With special guests Edel Mackey and Rob Strong, and an unadvertised but splendid contribution from Roy Thompson.
There were also some thought-provoking videos, one about just how small a planet we live on and should do more to survive with each other on. Another with local children and elders talking about the times of their lives.
A big mix indeed. With a couple of slide shows of local photographs thrown in. One about the kind of volunteering that supports so many clubs and organisations in Kilcullen. The other a very special ‘this is your life’ in pictures about Noel Clare, the much loved, and retiring, Deputy Principal of CPC.
And then more music. And more music. An event with something for everyone. And it seemed everyone was there. Many thanks to all concerned, especially the extraordinarily energetic Phionagh Gibson, and the Choir’s own band, for a really terrific night.
All the pictures are here.
