Sand v wood chips discussion for Playground
Facebook is to be used to start a 'discussion' on the use of sand instead of wood chippings at the Community Playground, writes Brian Byrne.
This was decided at the most recent meeting of Kilcullen Community Action, which is the umbrella group for Tidy Towns and other community initiatives in Kilcullen.
There's been strong concerns raised by users of the playground since Kildare County Council replaced the original wood chips with sand last year.
KCA is also to look into the provision of signs at the Playground noting the fact that it is maintained by KCA volunteers on behalf of Kildare County Council.
Signs asking people to take dog faeces away when walking their dogs are also needed, the meeting heard.
The next meeting of KCA is Tuesday 21 June, at 8.30pm in Fallons.
