Spout needs swimmers for Marina appeal

Customers of The Spout Bar are looking for volunteers to do a sponsored swim in the 40-Foot at Sandycove, Dublin, in aid of the fund for a stem cell transplant for Marina Jordan Killoran.

The Newbridge mother of two has been ill for the last eight years and her husband Alan became a full-time carer to her three years ago.

An operation in a Chicago clinic to save her life will cost €109,000, the kind of money the family just doesn't have.

Since Marina's story was highlighted in the news media, there has been a surge of financial support through fundraising events.
