Heavy bookings for Kilcullen 1916 presentation tonight
Tonight's presentation on Kilcullen in 1916 is very heavily booked, and anyone coming without booking will be depending on cancellations or 'no shows', according to organiser Mary Orford.

Military Aspects of Easter Week, 1916, a presentation by John Martin, will discuss the military events of Easter Week 1916 including how the British Army and the rebels deployed. weapons used, key military engagements and the human face of conflict.
And if you still have an appetite for even more from that period in the locality, Athy Heritage Centre 'Steps Back in Time' on Saturday next with reenactments of the Irish Volunteers, RIC, Cumann na mBan and civilians activities, beginning at 4pm. There will also be a working replica of the Sliabh na mBan armoured car as well a demonstrations of 1916 games. A children's fancy dress competition is also part of the afternoon's events, as well as much more in the line of lectures, walking tours and similar. All events free.
