Meeting planned on policing, crime

Following on from the recent Kilcullen Community Text Alert AGM, a meeting is to be organised to discuss policing matters in the area, writes Brian Byrne.

Chair of the committee Sabina Reddy has been in discussion with the local Garda, and a representative will attend the meeting. Further development of the Text Alert system will be among the matters for discussion.

People will have the opportunity to ask questions on local policing matters, and gain advice on protection against crime.

The date and place of the meeting will be announced shortly. Meantime, anyone with views on policing and crime prevention in the locality can get in touch with any member of the Text Alert committee, which comprises Sabina Reddy; Phil O'Brown; Maurice O'Mahony; and Ivan Keatley.
