Garda warning about morning car thefts

The Garda are warning people not to leave their cars idling outside their homes in the morning to clear ice, writes Brian Byrne.

Apparently there have been a number of thefts of cars across the local Garda Division, as opportunistic thieves took cars being 'warmed up' in this way.

If you need to clear frost, ice or snow before setting out on your morning journey, stay in the car while it is warming.

The latest warning was issued this afternoon across the local Text Alert Scheme.
