Last minute checks complete, lights ... action!

After a trojan effort by members of Kilcullen Community Action and the business community, Kilcullen is going to have a much brighter Christmas this year, writes Brian Byrne.

The big switch-on happens at 6.30pm on Friday in a gala event with Santa, goodies for the children from the Kalbarri Cookery School, tree decorations courtesy of the children from the Kilcullen Community Childcare Centre, and entertainment from the children from the Scoil Bhride School Choir, members of the Kilcullen Gospel Choir, students of Drama Dynamics, and residents of Bridge Camphill.

There are brand new lights adding to the overall Christmas ambience, thanks to very generous donations from individuals and the business community, along with a sizeable grant from Kildare County Council.

As can be seen from the work in progress pictures above, it has been a really busy week for all concerned. They deserve a big high-five from everyone in the community.
