Entertaining night promised for Maintain Hope

The lineup for the Maintain Hope Christmas Concert on Thursday is impressive and a promise of a very entertaining night, writes Brian Byrne.

With no less than 14 performance segments, the contributions include choral, songs, classical music, solo harp, poetry and prose.

Among the musical presentations there will be the Kilcullen Gospel Choir, Leah O'Sullivan, Francie O'Brien, Sean Leahy and friends, Roy Thompson, the McMahon sisters, Danny Carthy and Philomena Breslin.

And, of course, the audience, who will help close the event with the ensemble carols session.

Emmet O'Sullivan will contribute another Christmas story, Charlie Talbot will read from Robert Service, and your editor will muse on an aspect of growing up in Kilcullen.

Refreshments and a raffle will also feature in the evening's events. As I write, I'm not sure of the position with remaining tickets, but a check with Berneys Chemists will clarify that for those who haven't yet booked.
