Kilcullen Badminton update
Sinead's Grade 2 ladies started the week by playing Portarlington in their last South West League group match on Monday 09 November. The girls wanted to finish the group stages with a win even though they had already made it to the semi finals. In a close match the girls came away with a great 3-1 victory, but the scores reflected how close the games were. Well played to Sinead, Gillian, Annette and Lynsey in a close match and good luck in your semi final.
Entertaining Mountmellick in the complex also on Tuesday night were Orla's Grade 6 South West League. In a great match to watch Orla's team came out the victors beating the visitors 3-1. This win guarantees Orla, Meave, Dayna and Grace a semi final spot as they sit second in their table behind Portlaoise BC Ladies 1.
In all the SW League has been a great success so far with eight out of the nine teams entered making a semi final and one team making a final!!Congratulations to all the Ladies and Mens teams and their captains on a great Southwest season so far. Hopefully we can keep the same standard in the Dublin District League.
On Tuesday 10 November Bernie and her Division 3 Ladies travelled to Old Bawn in their Dublin District League round 1 Cup match. It wasn’t to be the ladies night and they were beaten 3-1. Hard luck to Bernie, Sinead, Catherine and Chelsey.
Wednesday 11 November Lynsey and the Division 2 Mix 1 team visited An Caislean Nua in the first round of their DDL Cup. Unfortunately the Kilcullen outfit were beaten 3-1 in some very tough and close games to an organised and well coached An Caislean Nua team. Hard luck to Lynsey, Gareth, Declan and super sub Gillian.
