Amy presented with painting

Amy Sully of Brannockstown was presented with the 'Winter on the Canal' painting yesterday by the artist Ray Ryan, which she won in the recent St Vincent De Paul raffle, writes Brian Byrne.

The artist had donated the painting to raise funds for the SVP, continuing an initiative which he started last year, and will also do next year.

The scene of the painting is near Abbey Bridge in Naas, close to the canal spur to Corbally Harbour from where freight used to be delivered to Kilcullen and surrounding areas when that part of the waterway was active.

Also pictured are John Berney, in whose pharmacy the painting was displayed during the course of raffle ticket sales, and Josephine Larkin, President of Kilcullen SVP.
