New route, finish, for Vintage Rally
The Mac and Norman Vintage Rally will have a new finishing point this year — the Priory in Kilgowan, writes Brian Byrne.
Organiser Ann Sully says it's part of a new longer route that came about by request from participants.
Scheduled for Sunday 16 August, it will be the 13th running of the rally, which has raised a large amount of money for the Irish Cancer Society since its inception.
The new route will have the rally leaving from Cannycourt and heading towards Brannockstown and on to Two Mile House. After that it will go straight through Kilcullen and out onto the the Athy Road where will it will head over the motorway bridge, then taking the old Carlow Road towards Kilgowan at Thompson's Cross.
There will be refreshments in the field to the right of Priory (Gormanstown Road) and afterwards an auction in the Priory's car park. Sister Act will be there to entertain.
Sponsorship cards are available from Ann Sully at 087 9810555 or 045 483700. Also if anyone would like to donate towards the auction it would be greatly appreciated by all.
