Hard stand for recycling facility

A hard-stand in front of the recycling facility bins in the Leinster Marts Car Park is likely to be put in place during the summer, writes Brian Byrne.

This follows representations by Cllr Fintan Brett following a visit by him to Kilcullen last week. The councillor has since had discussions with relevant sections in Kildare Council Council and he says he's now 'confident' that the facility will be upgraded.

At the moment, users of the recycling bank are reluctant to do so during rainy weather, as it means mud and grit will be tracked back into their cars.

The facility was provided last year by the Environment Department in KCC, thanks to the generous cooperation of Leinster Marts who own the property.
