Heritage grants invitation

Kildare County Council is inviting applications for the Community Heritage Grant Scheme 2015, writes Bridget Loughlin, Heritage Officer.

Applications are invited from groups/organisations or individuals who are carrying out local heritage projects. The closing date for applications is Wednesday, 18 March 2015. Applications forms can be downloaded from http://kildare.ie/CountyCouncil/Heritage/Grants/.

Heritage can include monuments, archaeological objects, heritage objects, architectural heritage, flora, fauna, wildlife habitats, geology, heritage gardens, parks and inland waterways. All projects funded must have a community benefit and applicants must organise an event during Heritage Week 2015 (22-30 August 2015 or Biodiversity Week May 2015).

Projects which have been funded in the past have included the creation of a wildflower meadow in Castledermot, habitat survey, heritage signage in Clane, conservators assessment of collection, audits of local heritage, heritage signage and biodiversity signage boards.
