'Serious safety situation' near motorway
A 'serious health and safety situation' has arisen between Cnoc na Greine estate and the M9 motorway which passes close to it, according to local resident Orla O'Neill, writes Brian Byrne.
Following the clearance earlier this week of trees beside the motorway by contractors to the National Roads Authority, access to the busy road is very easy for children who might play in a lane beside the estate.
Following a request to the NRA, a representative of the contractors will visit the site in the coming days to assess the situation.
The trees clearance raised the ire of Cnoc na Greine residents earlier this week, because it was done in the night, keeping children awake, and also because the thinning of the trees has exacerbated the traffic noise getting through to parts of the high-density residential area.
