Concrete apron for recycling facility
Work will begin on installing a concrete apron around the recycle facility at the Cattle Mart car park during the next week, writes Brian Byrne.
The facility was installed earlier this year, with the kind cooperation of Leinster Marts. Kildare County Council's Environmental Awareness Officer Dara Wyer says the work will take 2-3 days.
He has also appealed to motorists who use the private car park to make sure no litter is dropped from their cars while collecting their children from school.
"There is an issue with litter around the school run time," he said this week. "Staff at the Mart have to do litter cleanup in the car park every school day. As we rely on their cooperation to have the recycle facility there, it would be a pity if this caused difficulties. It just needs a very small number of people to do the right thing."
