Badminton update
Kilcullen Badminton Club competed in another five matches this week, writes Enda O'Neill, Club PRO.
First out in the SW League Ladies grade 4 who hosted Athy and used their home advantage to the max with a 3-1 win. This result puts the ladies four points ahead at the top of the table with two group matches remaining. Congrats to the girls on a fine win.
Also at home were grade 6 Mens against Baldoyle in their first outing in the Dublin and District League, unfortunately it was not to be their night and they went down 3-1 to the visitors in a hard fought close match. Hard luck to Olivier, Ben Awais and David.
Meave's Grade 6 Ladies travelled to St Laurences with a one hundred percent record, Meave and her team haven't dropped a set yet in their league and have a semi final date already in the league. The girls kept their record in tact beating St Laurences 4-0, great result girls surely with this form we will be seeing you in a final!
Also away were the Grade 4 Mens team. Enda and the lads are also unbeaten so far in the league but still needed one more win to secure a semi final spot. The lads didn’t disappoint and beat CMWS of Kildare 3-1 and this result ensures a semi final match. Well done to Sean, Fintan and Vincent on a great performance.
Finally Darren's Grade 1 mens visited Gurteen but unfortunately couldn’t get a win, losing a tight match 3-1. In this close match all games went to deciding sets and just didn’t get the run of the green. The lads need not be too disappointed as they are still in with a serious shout in making a semi final.
