Cheques to ICS to be presented tonight

The fundraising efforts of two Kilcullen groups in the area of support for cancer sufferers will be acknowledged tonight, writes Brian Byrne.

At 8pm this evening in the The Spout Bar, a cheque will be presented to a representative of the Irish Cancer Society, the proceeds of fundraising over recent times by Jimmy Aspell and friends.

And later in the evening in The Stray Inn in Milemill, the same organisation will get a cheque from the organisers of the Mac & Norman Vintage Rally.

Both events reflect the amazing generosity of people who, even in the hardest of economic times, find the wherewithal to support good causes. Take a bow, organisers and contributors alike.

Meanwhile, the Kilcullen team in the recent Relay for Life Kildare were thanked last night for their contribution to a cheque for €52,367 which was presented to the Irish Cancer Society last night.
