Big cheque for Make A Wish

In the best fundraising year they have had so far for the Make A Wish Foundation, the Friends of Toddlers & Wobblers pre-school playgroup have raised more than €8,000 for the charity, writes Brian Byrne.

They celebrated last night in The Hideout with their big, very big cheque, representing the money raised by some 30 women for Make A Wish, in a street collection, taking part in the Women's Mini Marathon, bag-packing and other activities during this past year.

Pictured in the pink are Imelda Pembroke, Julie Mallon, Brigitte Dowling, Elaine Haslam, Karen Doyle, Kat Dempsey, Mag Lambe and Leanne Doran ... but don't forget the other 22 who were part of the effort.

As part of last night's festivities, they held a free raffle for everybody in The Hideout, of a Halloween Cake and bottle of bubbly.
