Patricia says a heartfelt 'thanks'

In a moment of pure absent-mindedness I left my handbag in the middle of the street in Kilcullen, writes Patricia Berney.

It contained my phone, cash, cheque book and all the usual bank cards. I only missed the bag when I got home. I drove back to Kilcullen wavering between optimism that some kind Kilcullen person would hand it in, and fear/panic that it would be gone.

I walked back into Centra and, before I spoke, Mairead held out the bag with only a mild rebuke. "You left it in the middle of the street Patricia!"

I would like to sincerely thank Anne Brennan who handed it in, Mairead for minding it, and Lucia Brennan for driving out to Yellowbog later that morning to let me know where it was. Only in Kilcullen.
