Pop-up gallery in place for weekend

A pop-up gallery organised by Antoinette Buckley and Jennifer Monaghan is now almost ready for the Kilcullen River Festival weekend, writes Brian Byrne.

The gallery will feature the work of three artists — Mary Markey, Bettyann Browne, and Joan Prendergast — and has been set up in the shopfront premises formerly used by Home Instead Senior Care.

The crafts and art on display and for purchase are decoupage, jewellery, and chalk-painted upcycled furniture. A percentage of the funds raised will be allocated to future community projects for Kilcullen.

The gallery will be in operation from Friday 22 August through the weekend, opening at 9.30am on the Friday and Saturday, and at 11am on the Sunday of the River Festival proper, and staying open each day until 6pm. Jennifer Monaghan will demonstrate the art of decoupage each day.

Yet another reason to put the Kilcullen River Festival weekend in your diary.
