Kilcullen Diary

WEATHER

Generally cloudy with some showery outbreaks of rain. Some warm hazy sunshine will break through as well though. Highest temperatures of 12 to 16 degrees. Winds will be light to moderate westerly or variable. Friday night will bring further scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle.

DID YOU KNOW?

Actress Hedy Lamarr is best known for her film career in the 1930s and 1940s. But she was also an inventor, and during WW2 she worked with composer George Antheil to create a 'frequency hopping' secure communication system that would prevent signal interference on radio-guided torpedoes, and is widely considered the precursor to not only Wi-Fi, but also GPS and Bluetooth technologies. However, Lamarr and Antheil’s patent expired before the invention got used.

PARISH LOTTO
