Paul and Fleadh for Kilcullen gig
Here's some good news for those interested in music — former Kilcullenite Paul Durney's band Fleadh will be giving a performance in the Town Hall Theatre on 18 January, writes Brian Byrne.
Paul, aka Saoirse Mhór, is one of the band's founder members, and has been making his living in Germany for many years as a musician. The multi-countried Fleadh is made up by Saoirse Mhór, Tommy Gorny, Marcus Eichenlaub, Frank Durschner and Frank Weber.
The band will also be putting on a local gig in McDonnells in Newbridge on 25 January, as part of their Ireland tour.
The Kilcullen gig was arranged by Ray Kelly after he read about the tour on the Diary. Ray will be remembered in musical terms for the excellent series of 'Live by the Liffey' gigs he organised in the Town Hall some years ago.
