Powerful musical year-end to BAG and Cunninghams

Well, it's that time of year already, and I've just one more gig this year in each venue before Christmas, writes Roy Thompson of the Ballymore Acoustic Gigs and Cunninghams Bar in Kildare. But, boy, we're seeing out the year with a bang!

Not one, not two, but THREE acts in one night in each venue! And they're all young Irish acts that are each making great waves on the Irish music scene. Imagine that, three acts for the price of one! Well, don't just imagine it, come out and witness it!

Monday, December 2 - Mick Murphy's, Ballymore Eustace; Doors 8:00pm. €12 at the door.
Tuesday, December 3 - Cunninghams Bar, Kildare Town. Doors 8:00pm. €12 at the door.

The three acts — Edisons, The Young Folk, and Fiach Moriarty — bring a freshness to the scene of rootsy/acoustic music, at times with a respectful nod towards a contemporary Americana sound. But, lets not pigeon-hole them — suffice to say these acts are part of the new scene of quality Irish songwriting; excellent musicianship abounds, here, and the quality is obvious from the first note.
