John Spillane returning to the BAG

John Spillane returns to Mick Murphy's on Monday November 18, writes Roy Thompson of the Ballymore Acoustic Gigs, new CD under his arm.

'Life in An Irish Town' is a collection of songs written about, guess what, yes, life in an Irish town. Well, several of them, actually, and the CD accompanies John's recent smash hit TV series broadcast on TG4 — 'Spillane ag Fánaí. One-nil to John, Fair play to him!

More seriously for a moment, John Spillane is one of the finest songwriters and singers, Irish or otherwise, to ever walk in shoeleather; his performances are legendary, and never fail to impress mightily.
