Christmas lights on track
Arrangements for the Christmas lights were finalised at last night's meeting of Kilcullen Community Action, writes Brian Byrne.
The switch-on is planned for 8 December and the lighting will continue until 6 January.
Appreciation was expressed to the ESB which has responded positively to negotiations relating to an overhang of moneys owed for the lights over previous years, mainly because of Standing Charge costs over each year period for metering systems, even though the lights were only in use for about a month at a time.
A report from Ray Kelly, who conducted the negotiations, noted also that such charges in future years will be substantially less because the three current meter systems will be amalgamated into one account.
