Great gigs coming in BAG and Upstairs

There are great gigs to look forward to in the coming weeks at the Ballymore Acoustic Gigs and Upstairs at Cunninghams, writes Roy Thompson.

Monday Sept 23, Ger Wolfe (IRL) - Mick Murphy's, BAG: 'The Lark of Mayfield' is touring his brand new CD 'I Have Been Loved'.

Monday Sept 30, Catfish Keith (USA) - Mick Murphy's, BAG - Cutting-edge blues singer, songwriter and bottleneck slide guitarist.

Tuesday Oct 1, Catfish Keith (USA) - Cunningham's, Kildare.

Monday Oct 7, Ben Reel (IRL) - Mick Murphy's, Ballymore - Armagh native, Ben Reel returns to Ballymore with brand new CD 'Darkness and The Light'.

Monday Oct 14, Josh Harty (USA) and Amelia Curran (CAN) co-billing - Mick Murphy's, Ballymore - Two superb singer/songwriters from across the big pond return to Ballymore.

Thursday Oct 17, Amelia Curran (CAN) and Otis Gibbs (USA) co-billing - Cunningham's, Kildare Town - Excellent contemporary/Americana sounds from t'other side of the Atlantic, €15.

Monday Oct 21, Thomas Leeb (Austria), Mick Murphy's, Ballymore - Stunning instrumental guitar playing; dynamic, innovative and exciting.

All Ballymore gigs are 8:30pm doors open. All Cunningham's gigs are 8pm doors open. All gigs are €12 unless otherwise advertised.
