Hazel lands publishing deal in US

Titanic novel reaches US portLocal author and freelance writer Hazel Gaynor has just been offered a two-book deal with US-based publishers William Morrow, writes Brian Byrne.

The deal with the US arm of Harper Collins involves the publication in April 2014 of The Girl Who Came Home, the Titanic-themed novel which Hazel self-published on the Amazon Kindle platform last year.

They will also publish Hazel's second novel, Daughters of the Flowers, sometime in early 2015.

"This all happened after I was approached by an agent based in New York who had read 'The Girl' on her Kindle and wanted to know if I had an agent and whether I'd written anything else," Hazel told the Diary today. "I am over the moon!"
