Visitors win inaugural Gathering Cup

San Francisco holds the dayThe result of the first Maurice O'Mahony Gathering Cup match today was San Francisco 3-18 and Kilcullen 2-9, writes Brian Byrne.

The game was between the U/14 teams from both communities, and was the highlight of an afternoon of other games and a variety of festivities to mark Kilcullen GAA's Gathering Ireland 2013 contribution.

The team from the Golden Gate state were on tour to a number of Irish heartland GAA locations before coming to Kilcullen today, and will follow their win here win with participation in the All Ireland Feile competition in Derry.
