Toddlers & Wobblers help Make A Wish
Big local push for childrens charityA cheque for €1,637 was handed over to the Make A Wish Foundation last evening in Joey's Hideout, writes Brian Byrne, the proceeds of a recent fundraiser in the pub by The Friends of Toddlers & Wobblers in Kilcullen.
It is just part of an ongoing effort by the local group, which has been fundraising for the Foundation for several years.
"Over the last two years we have raised €1,500 for the Foundation," says Elaine Haslam from TFT&W. "But this year we're going a different way, and we're confident we'll go well ahead of previous funding for the cause."
In addition to last night's cheque, the group were donated almost €1,000 in a street collection last weekend, and a Bag Pack has also realised in excess of €500.
And 29 women involved in one way or another are taking part in next month's Flora Womens Mini Marathon for the same charity.
