Deadline looms for Day Lewis Awards

There's just a week to go for the closing date for entries to the 2013 Cecil Day Lewis Literary Awards Festival 2013. That's Friday 19 April 2013

The Awards are promoted by the Athy Heritage Centre-Museum and are for Short Story, Poetry, and One Act Play.

The competition is open to Primary and Secondary School Students, and Individuals up to 18 years old in County Kildare.

The Primary School Categories are Short Story and Poetry for Junior Cycle aged 9 and under and Senior Cycle aged 10-12 years attending primary schools.

The Secondary School Categories are Short Story, Poetry, and One Act Play, for Junior Cycle (1st year – 3rd year) and Senior Cycle (4th year – 6th year).

Students can submit one entry under each section if they wish.  Trophies, Book tokens and Certificates are given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each category. There will also be Highly Commended certificates.
