Council cutting water pressure across Kildare network

Kildare County Council is to reduce water pressures across its supply network area at non-peak times, in order to maintain supplies and storage levels, writes Brian Byrne.

The Council says consumers can assist by restricting the use of water as much as possible.

In a statement this afternoon, the authority says that supplies across the Greater Dublin Area are at 'unstustainably low levels' arising from a 'combination of events.

Consumers on high ground or at the end of the supply network may have reduced pressure or partial loss of supply. Updates on areas affected will be available should
additional restrictions be necessary.

Dublin city councils have been restricting supplies for more than a week.
