Murphy Surveys Cyclethon for Crumlin
Kilcullen-based Murphy Surveys has launched a €30,000 fundraising drive for the Children's Medical & Research Foundation at Crumlin Childrens Hospital.
The company is marking its 30th anniversary in business with the initiative, because of the care provided by the hospital which has touched the lives of the Murphy family and members of its staff.
On Saturday 18 May, cyclists from Murphy Surveys will be joined by friends from Kilcullen Cycling Club to cycle 40km from the Irish head office in Kilcullen to the hospital in Crumlin. Any donations to the cause are warmly appreciated, and can be made online.
The hospital provides all cardiac services for children with heart defects in Ireland, which is one in 100 children. CMRF is currently working towards a €4 million goal to complete the construction of new Cancer and Cardiac wards this year at the hospital. Supporters of CMRF have raised €4m to commence the construction, but the work cannot be completed without similar efforts this year.
Murphy Surveys was established in 1983 by the late Peter Murphy and is now operated by his four sons - Colin, Raymond, Niall and Diarmuid. The company operates with 120 staff from six offices throughout the UK and Ireland. Its clients include Intel, the Railway Procurement Agency and the National Road Authority in Ireland; Crossrail, Network Rail, and Thames Water in the UK; as well as ARUP, Crown Estate, Cluttons, CBRE, Foster and Partners, Ballymore Group, Durkan Group, Berkeley, Sisk Group - Dragados, Studio Daniel Libeskind New York, and many others.
