Community Alert meeting

A meeting to progress the idea of a text-based Community Alert scheme in the Kilcullen area will be held in Brennans of Old Kilcullen on Wednesday night next, writes Brian Byrne.

This follows from an information evening which took place in the Community Centre last year.

"We've had a lot of inquiries lately," says Cllr Ivan Keatley, "and we hope that this meeting will get the ball rolling so that we can have a full launch night in the near future."

It's envisaged that the scheme would serve the greater Kilcullen area to include Old Kilcullen, Sunnyhill, Mile Mill, Gilltown and Gormanstown.

Wednesday's meeting kicks off at 8.30pm.
