M9/M7 interchange works

Works to improve the M9/M7 interchange (the tunnel) will begin on Monday, with the purpose of widening the merge facility for northbound traffic off the Kilcullen bypass.

The work is being done by Clonmel Enterprises under contract to Kildare County Council and will take about 12 weeks.

The existing merge will be maintained to allow for less interference during the construction of the project and to limit construction to the left hand side of the M9 merge and the M7 mainline.
