Great generosity at Miscellany

More than €4,000 was raised at yesterday's Miscellany on Sunday hosted at the Bermingham Family Home in Mooretown.

Once again it was a packed house all afternoon, with visitors coming and going and enjoying the festivities and the music, poetry and storytelling.

It was especially an event that showcased a wealth of young upcoming musical talent from the area.

The funds this year go to the work of Redemptorist priest Fr John Bermingham, son of Phena and the late Tom Bermingham, in his mission in Mozambique.

"Goodness and kindness prevail despite all the negatives in our present times," Phena told the Diary this morning.
