More awards for Nolans

Continuing their stunning series of wins, Nolans Butchers have recently added yet more awards to their already groaning trophy shelf, writes Brian Byrne.

Last Sunday the famous Kilcullen business was presented with the All Ireland Champion trophy for its Spiced Beef, beating 83 other competitors and adding to similar wins earlier for Home Made Sausages and for White Pudding. Pictured are sponsor David Gaynor with James Nolan, and Dermott Mitchell getting the Eastern Region trophy from Dave Lang, President of the Associated Craft Butchers of Ireland. Dermott will be preparing all Nolans Spiced Beef for the Christmas trade.

The business also won another prestige award at the Retailer of the Year Awards last weekend, coming 6th in the Top 50 stores in the country (2nd in their category). Pictured are (back) Kevin Jepson of Retail Ireland; Margaret and John Lambe, manager of Nolans shop; James and Emma Nolan; and (front) presenters Karen Koster and Anton Savage.

Earlier this year, Nolans won the award for The Best Butchers Shop in the UK & Ireland.
