'Gathering' meeting tonight

A special meeting is being held this evening, Tuesday October 23, to consider proposals for Kilcullen participation in next year's nationwide 'Gathering' event, writes Brian Byrne.

The meeting is being held in the Credit Union, and all who have an interest in helping, or with a proposal, are welcome to attend.

It is being organised by Kilcullen 2017 and Kilcullen Community Action.

The idea is to have as many of Kilcullen's emigrants as possible to come home during 2013, around events which might attract many of them at the one time.

All organisations and clubs in the town are being contacted with a view to participation.

A Kilcullen 2017 meeting held earlier this month brought a very small response, and the organisers have been directly contacting individuals involved in groups.
