The passing of Maureen Powell

The Diary has learned with sadness of the death last evening of Maureen Powell, nee Brennan, Eagle Lodge, Kilcullen. She was wife of the famous National Hunt Jockey over several decades, the late Paddy Powell.

Her removal will take place from Anderson and Leahy’s Funeral Home, Newbridge, on Monday 24 September to arrive in St Conleth’s Church, Newbridge, at 6.30pm.

Maureen's funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday 25 September at 11am. Burial will follow in New Abbey Cemetery Kilcullen.

We extend our condolences to her family, daughters Audrey, Stella, and Sally-Ann and her extended family; her brothers Denis and Liam and her sister Bernadette. May she rest in peace.
